Corona del Mar personal trainer- crossfit workout

Hey There, Steve (Corona del Mar personal trainer) here with the days workout.

Todays workout was inspired by Crossfit’s ‘Nicole’ workout. This is what it looked like:

Nicole

Complete as many rounds in 20 minutes as you can of:

  • Run 400 meters
  • Max rep Pull-ups

As you can see, there isn’t a lot of fancy exercises to this one but it is a tough one to complete, especially for 20 minutes!  Here are Mike and Pam doing killer job and showing how it’s done!

I really like this workout because you’re only running 400 meters (basically a 1/4 mile) at a time.  This means you can really push yourself, knowing that you’ll be done in less than 2 minutes.  Now although your total run time isn’t that much, you’re going to be activating your fat burning mechanism (EPOC)

So give this workout a try and if you have trouble with pull-ups, checkout this video: Irvine boot camp jumping pull-ups

Great workout! The pull-ups are always a challenge for me. I am now getting to the point where I can actually get the proper form for at least the first set! In the beginning I couldn’t even lift myself up. The cardio in between sets increases the challenge!

Good job on the revised web-page. I look forward to reading everyone else’s comments!

This workout was really challenging. There were times, when I thought “I really can’t do anymore” and then, I found myself doing it. I could hear Steve say in the background “five more” and I thought to myself …. is he nuts?I can’t do five more, I just can’t. And then, “poof ” I did it. I acheived it. I did five more. Somehow I kept going!! It felt great. Like bring on any task today and I can do it. That’s what exercise does. Steve has a great and subtle way of getting me thru it without me knowing. Thanks Steve!!
