What to expect from an Irvine boot camp

Happy Irvine boot camp members

Our mission is for our Irvine boot camp to be the best fitness experience you have ever had. You will be guided to reach the upper limits of your physical endurance each class, but safely and appropriately. You’ll also discover that your physical limit is beyond the point when your mind usually tells you, you can’t continue. You have nothing to fear, your Irvine boot camp instructor is well trained and knows when you reach your limit.

As your fitness and endurance improve, your upper limit will change.  At first, it may be walking up stairs and after a month you’ll be sprinting them.  The question:  Will I be sore the next day? gets asked frequently.  And the answer is, YES, but only for the first 2 weeks and then you begin to experience the “workout high” fit people talk about.  Also, there’s a feeling of great satisfaction knowing how well you can do when you really try. That euphoria will last until your next bootcamp class and will motivate you to continue.

Not all Irvine Boot camps are the same

Not all Irvine boot camps are created equal. Here are a few things to consider before choosing the best bootcamp for you:

  • Think deeply about your fitness goals.
  • Are you looking to lose weight or tone up?
  • Where does your motivation lie?
  • Do you have a pair of jeans or dress you want to wear once more?
  • Or are you simply looking to feel better and have more energy for your daily routine?

These tips will help you choose the very best Irvine boot camp for your needs and will improve your chances of achieving your goals.

Irvine boot camp Styles

There are several different styles when it comes to fitness bootcamps in Irvine.  Some are military-like where the instructors yell out loud to motivate you, while others focus more on teamwork where your peers provide the drive.  Depending on your level of self-motivation, make sure you consider the instructors teaching style. Regardless of your choice, all fitness programs require a commitment to attendance.  Your boot camp should easily fit into your schedule so that it doesn’t become a burden to your daily routine.  After all, you can’t get results if you don’t show up!

Some Irvine boot camps take place over a set period of time, such as six weeks which seems to be most popular.  Others classes run  year round which doesn’t give you an excuse to quit. The clients that get the best results, typically attend bootcamp about 3-4 times a week.

Final thoughts on Irvine boot camps

Getting into amazing shape is never an easy task.  You’re going to sweat, be sore, abstain from junk food, abstain from alcohol at times.  But consider the alternative of feeling fat, lazy, lethargic, bloated, sick and tired all the time.  When you begin your fitness program, commit to it for the rest of your life.  That is the one and only way to ultimately achieve and maintain your fitness goals.

And the moment you put on those pair of designer jeans or slip into that sexy dress, and all of your friends are complimenting you on how fantastic you look,  you’ll be reminded that all the hard work was worth it!

Irvine Boot Camp – jumping pull-ups

Hey Steve here, broadcasting from my Irvine boot camp, and today I have an awesome exercise that’s going to help you get toned and sexy arms!

Irvine boot camp members want tone arms…

Irvine boot camp tones armsA general concern of the women at my irvine boot camp is, that they want to have tone and sexy arms!  Usually somewhere between the tone of Madonna and Michelle Obama.  Now besides just doing triceps extensions, there are other techniques and exercises that will tighten your arms faster and more effectively.  Let’s take a look at some of those.

1. Nutrtion: eating the right foods and staying away from the bad ones, will determine if we see toned muscles our a thick layer of fat.  The worst food group you should remove from your diet first, is all processed carbohydrates.  That’s all starches, breads, pasta, crackers, cereals, and any other foods that come in a box or was made in a factory.  Doing this step alone will help you reduce your bodyfat dramatically.  Which means, we’ll be able to see those sexy arms!

2. Complex Compound exercises: Now although the word ‘complex’ is in the title, this just basically means, you want to focus on exercises that utilize several muscles in a functional way.  To break it down further, an example would be; do push-ups instead of the chest press machine.  The former challenges far more muscles than using a machine.  Incidentally, at my Irvine boot camp, all exercises performed are complex compound exercises!

3. Correct your posture: Posture always gets overlooked.  Besides helping in preventing future injuries and back pain, having good posture will give your body the appearance of being longer and leaner.  Think about it, if you’re shoulders are pulled back and back is straight, your muscles are going to look rounder and more defined than if you were hunched over, right?  Besides, this is something you can do immediately to give your body the look you’re going for.

The Best Irvine boot camp arm toning exercises

My 2 most favorite arm toning exercises are Pull-ups and Dips. Both of these exercises are complex compound movements and when combined in your workout, will give you great results.  In the video below, I’ll demonstrate how to do a jumping pull-up (since regular pull ups are difficult for most people).  And I’ll cover how to do dips in the next blog.

One of my favorite clients, Pam did me a huge favor and allowed me to film her demonstrating this great arm toning exercise, the jumping pull-up. Most people don’t have the strength to perform a full pull up and that’s why I love the jumping pull-up. You can still get the arm toning benefits and raise your heart rate to kick your body into fat burning mode.

Add the jumping pull-up into your routine by doing 2-4 sets of 15-20 repetitions. Try it out and let me know what you think of this exercise in the comments section below. Keep rockin’ it!
